Q. What is the difference between different versions of MyGains?

Q. I cannot generate Schedule D with trial version and cannot export to tax software as well?
Trial version provides you with the functionality to use the product for up to 30 days so that you can see if this product works for you. But, it will not allow you to generate a Schedule D or export the tax information to a tax preparation software till either Basic or Deluxe license is purchased.
Q. Basic version allows only 600 transactions? What constitutes a transaction?
Each entry in MyGains is counted as a transaction. A counter is displayed in MyGains as trades are entered or downloaded and for the basic version, maximum of 600 such records are allowed.
Q. What if I buy Basic version and reach the maximum number of transactions allowed? Can I upgrade to Deluxe version?
Yes, you can upgrade to the Deluxe version and you will only be charged the difference between the purchase price of Deluxe version and Basic version at the time of the upgrade, for being a loyal customer.
Q. What is the support and return policy?
Customer satisfaction is our first priority. If there are any issues, please write an email to MyGains support and we will respond to your query within 24 hours.
As this is a software product, it is not returnable. We will make all efforts to make this a pleasant experience for you, so that all your concerns are resolved to your satisfaction.
Q. I am concerned about security of sensitive financial data stored in MyGains?
MyGains was designed with security as a central attribute of the application. Security of sensitive financial data is key and therefore MyGains, being a desktop application, provides better security than that provided by online applications. All data exchanged between brokerages and MyGains is encrypted. MyGains also provides two level of password-protection for all capital gains files created within MyGains. Also, MyGains is purchased using Google checkout, which ensures your financial information is kept securely and will not be misused.
Q. Does MyGains integrate with all brokerages?
MyGains does not integrate with all brokerages presently, but we are working on adding more and more brokerages. If a transaction cannot be downloaded automatically into MyGains, trades can be imported by using qif or ofx files.

Q. What are the different ways in which trades can be entered in MyGains?
MyGains support a number of options to record trades.
- Trades can be downloaded automatically from supported brokerages. Brokerage information can be entered and stored in MyGains. The information is password protected and encrypted so that it is secure.
- MyGains also integrates with other personal finance products by enabling importing of transactions using ofx and qif formats.
- Trades can be entered manually in MyGains.
Q. MyGains downloads transactions from some of the brokerages that support such downloads. How far back can data be downloaded automatically from the brokerages?
The number of days MyGains will go back to download the transactions varies from brokerage to brokerage and depends upon what each brokerage supports. Usually it ranges from 30 days to 90 days. Therefore, to capture all the historical trades, you will need to use MyGain’s import function. The function allows you to import .csv files generated from your brokerage firms into MyGains. Usually you can download years of trade history using this function. Again, the exact length of time you will be able to download depends on your brokerage firms, but most support at least two years of data.
Q. What about future upgrades of MyGains? Do I have to pay an annual fee to keep receiving upgrades?
Each MyGains purchase if valid to be used on one PC for the lifetime of that PC. Hence, all minor upgrades released for MyGains will be available for free. When a new version is available, the software will alert you about its availability and at that time, you can decide to install the next version.
Any major version upgrade is not covered in this license purchase. When a major upgrade is released, existing customers will be offered a discount towards the purchase of the new version.

Q. I just completed the purchase through Google checkout but have not received the registration key? How long does it take for the registration key to be sent?
Registration key is shown upon completion of the purchase through Google checkout and is also delivered via email to the registered email address. Usually, the key is delivered as soon as the purchase is completed, but sometimes, due to the load on the mail servers, there may be a small delay in the email from being delivered. Please make sure that the email has not been routed to your junk mail or blocked by your anti-spam filters.
